The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspects in separate operations in Agbarho and Oghara, recovering six firearms, four live cartridges, ten expended cartridges and other suspected incriminating items.
The arrests, according to the Command, involved suspected cultists, armed robbers and individuals allegedly linked to other criminal activities.
In the first operation, operatives of the Command Anti-Cultism Unit (CACU), Sector 3, Ovwian-Aladja, on November 4, 2026, arrested a 34-year-old suspect, Akpoghene Goodluck, along the AgbarhoโWarri Expressway.
The police said the suspect attempted to evade the operatives while they were on patrol, prompting his arrest.
A subsequent search of the premises where he was apprehended reportedly led to the recovery of two locally fabricated guns and ten expended cartridges.
Further investigation led to the arrest of another suspect, identified as Solomon Arhugberume James, 50, from whose residence operatives recovered a pump-action gun and one live cartridge.
The two suspects reportedly claimed to be members of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security outfit but could not produce identification cards or other documents to substantiate their claims.

In a separate operation, operatives of Oghara Division arrested a 23-year-old suspected Eiye confraternity member, Clinton Awuerowswo, popularly known as Clinbaby, on October 23, 2026.
The police said the suspect had been at large following the recovery of firearms from his residence on March 23, 2026.
Items recovered in connection with the suspect include a Beretta pistol, two locally made cut-to-size guns, three live cartridges, a battle axe and a jackknife.
During preliminary investigation, Awuerowswo reportedly admitted ownership of the recovered weapons and membership of the Eiye confraternity.
The Command said investigations into the cases were ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Samuel E. Erale, psc, mnips, warned against cultism and the unlawful possession of firearms, reiterating the Command’s resolve to sustain operations against criminal groups across the state.
He also urged residents to provide credible information that could assist the police in tackling crime, assuring members of the public that the confidentiality of informants would be protected.
The statement was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, ANIPR, FCIA, FIPMD, and issued in Asaba on November 6, 2026.
