Delta Police Recover Stolen Toyota Corolla, Arrest Two Suspected Drug Dealers

The Delta State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla and arrested two suspected drug dealers in separate operations across the state.
The command, in a statement issued on Friday by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the stolen vehicle was recovered barely two hours after a report of its theft was received.
According to the statement, operatives of the ‘A’ Division, Warri, received a report on August 13, 2026, that an ash-coloured 2003 Toyota Corolla with registration number WW-579MD had been stolen from where it was parked at Awani Close, Ajamugha, Warri.
The detectives immediately commenced an operation in collaboration with the Dragon Patrol Team, leading to the recovery of the vehicle along Winners Church Road, Ughelli.
The police said efforts were ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible for the theft.
In a separate operation the same day, operatives attached to Operation Delta Shield arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 132 sachets of 100mg Tramadol.
The suspects, identified as 54-year-old Hillary Osondu and 54-year-old Abubakar Bello, were arrested during a stop-and-search operation along Nnebisi Road, Asaba.
The police said the suspects were travelling in a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA when operatives intercepted the vehicle and conducted a search, leading to the discovery of the Tramadol.
The two suspects are currently in police custody as investigation into the case continues.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives for their prompt response and urged officers across the command to sustain proactive and intelligence-led policing.
Oyeniyi also called on residents to remain vigilant and provide the police with credible information about suspicious persons and activities.
He assured residents that the command would continue to deploy available resources towards preventing and detecting crime across the state.
