Alimosho stake holders meeting took place on 4th, March 2023 with the Chief-of-staff Lagos state, critical political party leaders, local government excos, traditional rulers, religious leaders and members of the party in attendance. This meeting was set to discuss factors which had led to the low turn out of votes during the presidential election as well as way forward to getting better results as the Gubernatorial election approaches.

During the meeting, party leaders which also involves youth leaders and electorates expressed concerns in the limited resources allocated which had led to the use of personal funds to actualize a purpose that was already resourced by the government to ensure a smooth sail during the elections.

Hon. Ajisegiri Jamiu, the ward G leader in Alimosho, also the iccs official in Alimosho Local Govt, Independent Campaign Council for Tinubu/Shettima, Sanwo-Olu /Hamzat particularly expressed total dissatisfaction in the way Party leaders has been high handed and self centered towards members, outrightly swindling funds meant for party members to thrive and actualize purposes to ensure successful electioneering in Alimosho.

In a statement obtained by Naomisophyblog, Hon. Ajisegiri said:

“I made my ward very happy without receiving any form of financial resource from the state government or the so called party leaders in Alimosho yet I performed well by delivering my ward.

I was broke too yet I sold one of my commercial buses to meet up with expenses to be incurred during the elections, to sponsor the movement. I gave the people hope by feeding them before asking them to cast votes, every month I do empowerment exercises in my ward, Ward G in Alimosho which happens to be the biggest ward in Alimosho. The polling unit agents were also taken care of and those thugs were warded off by my stipends just to make sure we had a Peaceful Electoral Process without being funded.

As an office holder in Alimosho I’ve worked for the party in earnest, people speculated that I’ve been given the cash I spend but yet this money spent is from my pocket, I was not reimbursed, I have contested for political offices and used my own resources, but the governor Sanwoolu made us happy when he met with Aspirants otherwise a lot of us wanted to decamp to other parties because we didn’t get the resources we needed to pull through. We also had bad motives against the party due to manipulators and swindlers we have as leaders of the party in Alimosho.”

Hon. Ajisegiri also mentioned that some of the party leaders put in the hem of affairs are jobless yet called leaders, only interested in taking what belongs to the party floor members as well as leave the real actualizers empty without resources to pull through.

APC party actually leaves slots to be occupied but the so called Alimosho leaders uses this positions for their personal gains to families and not for others to benefit, taking monopoly of public services to be allocated to their extended family instead of others.
This selfish and greedy disposition by the Alimosho party leaders had led to the void experienced during the presidential election thereby debarring progress, he added.

He opined that the cashless policy affected the people and then you lead them out to vote for your party while they are hungry, money allocated for the smooth sail is being solely taken for themselves. Even a common ward counselor is feeling like a king ruling the people highhandedly.

Ajisegiri stated that he will never patronize self centered politics and as such must let the state govt know the truth in Alimosho. The political system in this part of Lagos must be looked into with utmost scrunity to unseat unscrupulously unworthy leaders who are the sole menace in Alimosho, speaking unbehalf of the masses, the less privileged.

Leaders should serve the people not people serving them and slaving for them. A leader should make sure followers are satisfied with his leadership by caring for them, he quipped.

He further stated that he decided not to follow the faction of swindlers and extortionist when he embarked on his ambition to join politics. After taking note of the antics and motives implored which is not in accordance with his ethics politically, he also noticed there were different factions with their views and vices which suits them alone and not the masses.

He also acknowledged Ward G as the largest ward in Alimosho but has never been given the position of chairmanship or other political offices yet had worked judiciously to always conquer by delivering plausible votes. Acclaimed leaders who aren’t even able to win their wards assume unmerited positions, and then control the constituency like they have a hold.

The President elect, state government should know that the leaders in Alimosho are being self centered that’s why the youths are angry, it seems like the leaders are bent on suffocating the youths of the party by consistently swindling funds meant for all thereby leaving the youth without subsistency and resources to make a positive impact in the elections, he said.

Still speaking, he said:

“Meeting with Sanwoolu the present governor of Lagos state, we realised that Alimosho leaders are our problem not the state government. Our party chairpersons have not done well in carrying us along, they had for a long time always sit on what’s meant for us, they even tell us to our face that they will give positions to whomever they like not based on merit but based on bloodline and the highest bid.”

“Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire is known to be unfair with leadership in Alimosho, those whom they commonised were even the ones who delivered their wards during the presidential election, yet you distribute positions to those who unmerited it”.

The so called prestigious persons loss their wards woefully, the ones you called nuisance delivered their wards.”

Hon. Ajisegiri also noted that those in attendance for the stakeholders meeting acknowledged the concerns raised on how Alimosho leaders have made monopoly of financial resources meant for the party.

The youths are saying enough is enough, they want to get what is meant for them, these leaders think the youths should fear them and not speak their minds because of the thugs they carry around but no we will speak accordingly to address the challenges of resource monopoly established by our leaders, a long practice that had further shredded the party rather than unite the party.

He also revealed threats to intimidate and silence him from speaking his truth but all to no avail, the problem Alimosho has is Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo (Alimosho Apex Leader) and Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, they try to form a faction to deceive members into being deresourced, all meant for members to survive is solely used by these tyrants of a leader. Some youths are coming from very troubled homes and will be happy to seek Solace with those who will help with resources to make a better life for themselves but these two leaders in Alimosho will stop at nothing to further send them to the streets by taking what they are entitled to, he said.

Hon. Ajisegiri revealed that death threats has been trailing from unknown callers to silence him but will not be deterred from speaking up against injustice, manipulation and intimidation melted out on APC youths in Alimosho.
